The Zoo

Last summer Finn went to the zoo and was fairly unimpressed.

This summer, he wanted to feed the animals; all of the animals.

Even the overzealous ones...

Photo Shoot

Showing your independence seems to be something Finnegan is very interested in as of late.  His  18 month pictures were the funniest I've ever seen as he looked like a grumpy curmudgeon in most of them.  There were sulky indignant glares as well...it was a good glimpse into his teenage years.  If only there were an eye roll or two, I'd be all set. :)  Still, Calli is talented and thus she was able to get a few good shots out of him.  Getting Finn's pictures taken by a professional seemed extravagant at first, especially the first year when we had them done every three months.  I have to admit though, I'm so glad we did it.  Now it's every six months, and I can see so many changes in him through these pictures.  Plus, even though I have a nice camera, Calli finds light I didn't even know existed to highlight my little boy and she does a great job.  So, here you have it...18 month old pictures of my 20 month old little boy. :)

Strolling of the Heifers

Excited and waiting...

finding ways to entertain ourselves...

This balloon lasted a total of five minutes before someone popped it.
Thankfully, he wasn't scared even though it popped right in his face.
I'm also glad it was free. :)

One of the first heifers of the parade.
Up until the parade, I had never heard Finnegan say "cow."
He always just said, "Moo" when he saw one.
As soon as the first heifer hit the street, he pointed and said, "COW!"
It was worth the whole day right there.

As I'm having issues uploading pictures to the blog at the moment, you don't get to see the baby alpacas, the person in the very large cow costume, or any of the tractors we viewed.  You also miss Finn and Drew at the petting zoo afterwards after we bumped into his pal, Drew at the parade.  Still, I think you get the idea that Finnegan (and his parents) had a lot of fun at the Strolling of the Heifers and plan to make it an annual event.
